Finns Family

Recently, it was my absolute pleasure to spend a beautiful February morning with a sweet family of 4.

Everyone, meet the Finns!




I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family in 2011 when I photographed them and their extended family in a super-sized family shoot.  I had a wonderful time hanging out with them again and am EVER so grateful for their continued support and prayers for our adoption!

The Finns were such a great family to be my "grand-finale-for-now!"

As my baby girl will be arriving any day I will be taking an extended maternity leave from photo shoots (with the exception of a very special friend's bridal portraits) to enjoy and get to know her!

I thank you, all from the bottom of my heart, for your support of this little project and look forward to helping other families "fundraise with photography" for their adoptions in late spring/early summer.

Jones Family

It has been my absolute pleasure to photograph so many beautiful families this year.  And I couldn't pick a more fun family to close out my year of shoots than the Jones family!

Everyone, meet the Jones family!

 

I have watched this gorgeous family grow beginning with a maternity shoot at the end of Jamie's first pregnancy. Then it was my treat to shoot them for Nora's first birthday and their secret announcement that they were expecting again! Now just weeks before this family o 3 becomes a family of 4 I had the opportunity to capture them again.

We shot during an early afternoon when a front was blowing through and clouds were covering every inch of the sky!  Luckily for us all I just received a handy-dandy flash for Christmas from my sweet in-laws so we made the best of the clouds!

Jones family, I thank you again, for allowing me the opportunity to capture such special moments in your family's story.  And thank you for your support of our adoption!  I can't wait for us all to have our babies home and have ourselves a play date!

One more quick thing!  Since we are expecting Miss Ruthie to be coming home late in February or early March I will have very limited opportunities to shoot in the early part of 2013.  If you are interested in booking me in the first quarter please email me asap so that I can get you on my calendar.

Freeze Family Fun

On Thanksgiving weekend Diana and I had the pleasure of making a sweet Mama's birthday wish come true.  

Everyone, meet Mama Freeze and her "kids!"

 

To celebrate this sweet lady's birthday we had ourselves an EXTRA LARGE family shoot!  Complete with 17 family members!

We had a hilarious time with this family doing everything we could to catch the attention of the 5 precious grandkids.  My favorite shots were the ones with the grandparents- primarily because the 4 sets of parents were hilarious to watch as they tried to get their kids to smile!

Good times were indeed had by all.

And I couldn't close without thanking the Lord for 3 very special Freeze's...

Trevor, Beth and Isaac are such a blessing to me and to my family.  Beth and Trevor have walked alongside us this year as we have both waited for the Lord to bring us our babies... they have understood and empathized with our feelings on this roller coaster ride of adoption.  

And now, by God's grace, our prayers have been answered and baby Isaac has joined their family!  I am so grateful for their friendship and look forward to introducing Isaac to our Ruthie when she comes home!

Dunn Family

It brings me such joy for my friends to refer new friends for me to photograph.  It's even cooler when one of those new families refers another!  

Recently after my shoot with the beautiful Wood Family, they referred another precious family to me.  

Everyone, I'm happy to introduce the Dunn Family!


 

This family was hilarious to hang out with from the first shot!  Nicole is truly the Princess of this family of 6- even their pup is a boy!  We had a great time hanging out in the shadows on this insanely cold but BRIGHT morning in Fort Mill.

Sutton Family

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."


My sister is amazing.  I wouldn't be lying to say that she beautifully exemplifies the woman who fears the Lord, described in the 31st Proverb. 

Those of you I have photographed know Diana as my assistant- always willing to hold your sunglasses, carry my 10 bags, jump around to make kiddo smile and even hold a leash or two during our more adventurous shoots. 

She is a HUGE blessing to me, volunteering her time to me in so many ways.  She also happens to have married a pretty cool dude.  So cool in fact that he lets me borrow my sister most weekends in fall without complaint!  :)

When I reread Proverb 31 before writing this post I laughed at this verse:

She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.

So appropriate! Especially since Diana is not only a sharp dresser but she's also my workout partner!
